چکیده

Meta-modeling of healthcare records is necessary to capitalize and normalize the knowledge of domain experts. First, it enables knowledge interoperability and, it offers reuse of clinical concepts and provides a higher design quality of health information systems and electronic health record systems. However, to obtain these advantages, designers must be able to retrieve the suitable archetypes that cover the clinical concepts involved in their specific applications, and to overcome the difficulties of modeling an electronic health record system based on existing archetypes. In fact, designers often have difficulties to reuse and adapt archetypes provided by open repositories, when modeling new electronic health record systems. Thus, they need special tools assisting them in customizing the appropriate archetypes. This paper focuses on archetypes reuse for modeling the electronic health record of child affected by cerebral palsy. Also, this paper highlights the major difficulties encountered during this process. Then, it evaluates archetypes reuse and presents some perspectives to solve these difficulties.

Towards Semantic Interoperability for Electronic Health Records: Domain Knowledge Governance for openEHR Archetypes

Objectives: In the field of open Electronic Health Records (EHRs), openEHR as an archetype-based approach is being increasingly recognised. It is the objective of this paper to shortly describe this approach, and to analyse how openEHR archetypes impact on health professionals and semantic interoperability. Methods: Analysis of current approaches to EHR systems, terminology and standards develo...

Modeling Magnetic Resonance Clinical Reports of the Lumbar Spine Using Openehr Archetypes

This work discusses the modeling of clinical data using openEHR archetypes. The openEHR project aims at developing an open and interoperable health computational platform, and an important component in this effort is the development of electronic health records (EHRs) that are clinically effective and interoperable. The project publishes specifications, implementations and archetypes with that ...

Applying an Archetype-Based Approach to Electroencephalography/Event-Related Potential Experiments in the EEGBase Resource

PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to investigate the feasibility of applying openEHR (an archetype-based approach for electronic health records representation) to modeling data stored in EEGBase, a portal for experimental electroencephalography/event-related potential (EEG/ERP) data management. The study evaluates re-usage of existing openEHR archetypes and proposes a set of new archetypes t...

Retrospective checking of compliance with practice guidelines for acute stroke care: a novel experiment using openEHR’s Guideline Definition Language

BACKGROUND Providing scalable clinical decision support (CDS) across institutions that use different electronic health record (EHR) systems has been a challenge for medical informatics researchers. The lack of commonly shared EHR models and terminology bindings has been recognised as a major barrier to sharing CDS content among different organisations. The openEHR Guideline Definition Language ...
